Kidd's Limpet 1

ENG: Kidd’s Limpets is a friendly family of four shells that unites few generations of one family. The end destination of all four of them is The Land of Oz – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where they will embark for a second part of their journey.

Limpets cannot survive long time without water, therefore please try to send them on a journey as soon as possible and direct them in the right direction to reach their destination.

When you find limpets on a coast you might think they are fixed to a rock with complete lack of motion. Believe me this is not true! They are always ready for a journey, but will always come back home before the next tide. As good examples are our Kidd’s Limpets which started their journey from the coast of Bristol Channel (Westward Ho! North Devon, UK) across the Baltic Sea and towards the Corral Sea.

Ракушки не могут находиться долгое время без воды, поэтому всегда старайтесь отправить их быстрее в плавание и задать им правильное направление, для достижения конечной цели.

Найдя Limpets на берегу, после прибоя, кто-то может решить, что это неподвижные раковины. Поверьте,  это обман! Они прекрасно приспосабливаются к суровым условиям жизни и всегда готовы к путешествию, но при этом всегда возвращаются на своё прежнее место. Примером могут служить Kidd's Limpets, отправившиеся в свой путь от берегов Bristol Channel (North Devon, Westward Ho!), через Балтийское море к берегам Караллового моря.

Gliemežvāciņi nevar ilgi iztikt bez ūdens, tāpēc vienmēr centieties ātrāk aizsūtīt viņus peldēt uz tālāko mērķi un norādīt pareizo virzienu galamērķa sasniegšanai.

Atrodot viļņu izskalotus Limpets krastā, var padomāt, ka tie ir nedzīvi gliemežvāciņi. Ticiet man, tā nav taisnība! Viņi ir lieliski pielāgojušies skarbajiem dzīves apstākļiem un vienmēr gatavi ceļojumam! Turklāt, viņi vienmēr atgriežas iepriekšējā vietā. Kā piemēru var minēt Kidd’s Limpets, kuri devās ceļojumā no Bristoles līča krasta (North Devon, Westward Ho!) pāri Baltijas jūrai uz Koraļu jūras krastu.

Kidd's Limpets family consists of four shells:

All of the four shells travel independently and have started from different locations. You can follow each of their journeys by clicking on their names-links above and see which of them is moving quicker and closer to the destination.

KL1 comes from Westward Ho! North Devon as do the other members of the family. It travelled to Looe, Cornwall in search for a perfect start and finally embarked on its long journey from Oxfordshire, UK.
