Current Goal

Mission: to go to the Grand Rapids Michigan area (Kent County, Holland, Grand Haven) and visit every cache. Visiting other caches in west and north michigan is good too, but keep moving me back towards home! Multiple pickups by area cachers are OK. Pictures are appreciated.

You Can't Go Home Again

I grew up in Grand Rapids Michigan. A nice place to raise kids it's said, but when I got to a certain age I made a break for it to Sunny California. I've been back a few times, but family is all gone from there and friends have scattered.

I miss it sometimes. I knew it well - knew the streets, knew the stores, the hills, the parks. I lived on the South side and can picture most of it effortlessly. I wonder when I'll ever go back again, so I made this Travel Bug to make the trip for me.

This was our last cache of the day of four at Aman Park near GVSU Allendale campus. It was a good day.

Sorry I have been holding this bug for so long. I almost forgot that I had it. I have been so busy that I just haven't had a chance to drop it in a cache that was big enough to hold it, yet close to the downtown area. Since the origional goal was to get to Grand Rapids I wanted to drop it as close to downtown as possible.

I hope everyone keeps this one in the area and visiting caches.

Who says you can't go home again. Well this bug has made it back home and enjoyed getting a tour of the ever changing downtown. It got to see the new DeVos Place convention center, the VanAndel Arena and The BoB.
Depending on when that last time it was in Grand Rapids, lots of thing have changed. The new DeVos Place Convention center recently opened and has been very busy with car shows, trade shows and various other activites. The VanAndel Arena it what really started the whole downtown rebirth. It's the home of the Grand Rapids Griffens hocky team and Grand Rapids Rampage Arena football team. The Bob (big old building) is one of many renovated buildings downtown. It now houses various resturants, night clubs and a comedy club too.
Well now that I have made it back home, now I will start my quest to see how many caches I can visit in this area.
It's been a great journey and I'm glad to be Home Again.

Picked up this bug at the MiGO Winter Social Event. I have brought this bug back home and not just my home but the former home of WalruZ. I look forward to taking this bug around town and showing it some of the changes that have happend over the years. Be watching for some pictures before it gets dropped into a cache in Grand Rapids.
