About This Item

Back in 2006, Groundspeak and Jeep released 6000 Green Jeep Travel Bugs as part of a contest. They were named after mountain peaks in the US. 6000 bugs, and not one of them named after a mountain east of the Mississippi! So we released a look-alike Jeep, and named it after the tallest peak in New England: "Mount Washington (NH) Green Jeep Travel Bug".

The Jeep lasted for just over two years, and accumulated 12682.5 miles, before it went missing.  Its last log was three years ago, so we are releasing a replacement on the COPY tag: this time it is a green Land Rover, and its mission is to see if it can last longer and travel farther than the original green Jeep.

A green Jeep find is great; but this one we really had to go find. Being named after Mt. Washington did it. We were on our way. Mt. Washington is a special place for us. We went up by car, went up on the Cog Railroad and hiked up on our 30th Anniversary.
