K Bear started his journey from Sydney Australia and is headed for Alaska wanting to visit as many places as possible...and maybe meet some bears a bit bigger than he. Please upload photos of his adventures.

Eventually it would be great if K Bear can head back Downunder and return to the Geocache where he started: The Library - GCHE73.

We had a really nice visit, but K Bear was ready to move along, so we dropped him off at the Travel Bug Trader hotel this morning.

K Bear enjoyed an afternoon visiting the local sights. He particularly liked the John Deere visitors center and spending some time by the Mississippi River.

  • A visit to the Putnam Museum K Bear really enjoyed the Putnam Museum!
  • He really liked the music of the world exhibit! K Bear and his new friend be-bopping to some cool tunes at the museum.
  • Boy, this combine is huge! The John Deere Pavillion is really cool. Lots of tractors and big stuff to climb in!
  • Mostly I like to drive. Driving is cool and the view is great from up here in the combine cab!
  • Needed a break With temperatures in the 90s, it was time to take a break and cool off with some frozen custard.
  • a visit to the Big Muddy We topped off the afternoon with a stop along the Mississippi River. This was K Bear's favorite part of the day!

K Bear has made it safely to Iowa. His adventure in the midwest begins with a stop by the National Weather Service. Boy, is it hot here right now!

Found K-bear enjoying the Texas Gulf Coast beach. We're off to show him the heartland, and then will place him in a cozy spot there within a couple of weeks.

K Bear has had a nice visit with us in North Texas and taken in some of the local sites, as well as catching up on his reading.

It also seems he has an affinity for art, and would like to take some classes should the opportunity arise.

He's looking forward to a trip to the beach this week.

We retreived KBear from Red Star Ridge in Palo Duro Canyon. Brought him to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to see some of the sights here.

K Bear has been in hibernation since he went south. Rain, snow, sleet, and gale force winds hindered his travels for a time, so he decided to lay low till the weather cleared. Tuesday was more than windy (60mph recorded) and snow was predicted for Thursday (today) so we decided to take our chances on Wed. Mar 30 out in the "Grand Canyon of Texas", our very own Palo Duro Canyon. The weather was perfect, and after miles of wandering, we found the Red Star Ridge cache and planted K Bear there and hope he meets up with some fun folks that will show him some great places. We have added a photo album showing a few fun places he visited over the winter and a puzzle piece of Alaska since that is where we found him. We treated him to the "free" 72oz Steak at the Big Texas Steak Ranch, and he did his best to eat it all, but alas, he bogged down and had to be bailed out!
We are hoping that with spring and summer the weather will cooperate, the trails will be open, and his journeys will be pleasant and he finds lots of good ole Southern Hospitality! He is well rested and rarin' to go!
