Current Goal

The Merry Spork (TM) would like to travel around the world, visiting as many cities and countries as possible. She would love to have her picture taken with interesting people and in interesting places--especially if the people and places are wacky, creative, colorful, fun, irreverent, peculiar or silly.
*FIRST REQUESTED DESTINATION--a cache in Pennsylvania, called There Is No Spoon.

About This Item

MerrySpork1a.JPG

The Merry Spork (TM) is a stainless steel spork (cross between a spoon and a fork), approximately 6 inches tall. Another name for spork is "ice cream fork." Like all true sporks, ours has a bowl and tines, and is therefore useful for eating many kinds of foods, both liquid and solid. This little gem has been the starter for spork soup, the making of which requires ingredient contributions from many people.
If you love silliness, you'll love the Merry Spork (TM). Take her with you, and show her the world!

On our way to try Compass Course 101 for the third time, Her Royal Sporkness decided to be daring... take a look at the picture and you'll see what I mean.

  • A partially frozen stream... ... and The Merry Spork (TM) couldn't resist dipping her toes. She said it was practice for New Year's Day when we are going to Atlantic City for the Polar Bear Plunge. I think she is having second thoughts after today...

The Merry Spork (TM) was tired of being cooped up in the house, and so was Z-Dog, so we all decided to do some caching today. It was very cold, wind chill in the single digits, but sunny and nice for a hike through the fresh snow!

The Merry Spork (TM) accompanied me to my Jeep club's annual Holiday Party. I was hoping she would boost my luck in the raffle... but it wasn't meant to be.

  • High tech fire! fire! fire! No welder for me (and no winch, either). Still, a $100 gift certificate and a pair of cool (and hot) Franziskaner Hefeweizen glasses were a pretty good haul for one night.

The Merry Spork (TM) accompanied me to "An Acoustic Evening with Godsmack" tonight. (Wilkes-Barre has gotten a lot more interesting over the past few years.) She really seemed to enjoy the music and the energy from the band and the crowd. Too bad cameras were not allowed, or I could have taken her picture with Sully in the background!

  • Outside the Kirby Center The Merry Spork was very excited about seeing a concert in such an intimate setting, and also getting a chance to watch an unusual performance from such a heavy band.
  • The Aftermath Once we got home, I boosted the cute little Spork up onto the island for a snack before bed - she asked to keep the stub as a souvenir.

Well, The Merry Spork TM and I started our joint caching adventures today with an attempt at a multi-cache that is giving me some trouble (GCHQC8)... She was unable to help me find stage one, but we did get to enjoy some sights together in Frances Slocum State Park....

  • The Merry Spork TM is a fibber. She tried to claim responsibility for the logging work you see here. Now, while a Spork is a very versatile and useful utensil, this is one Spoon! that is not that gullible!
  • More evidence... of a busy, large, flat-tailed, buck-toothed rodent.
  • Z-Dog makes a find... ...not of the cache, but a nice cozy lodge for a tired lumberjack.
  • A gigantic pine... ...with a hole right through the trunk, which was approximately 36 inches in diameter! The sun was bright, but not very warm today.
  • A pic from a previous visit to... ..the coordinates for stage one. Z-Dog was uncomfortable with the structural integrity of this bridge...
