Current Goal

This virtual Travel Bug moves like a benevolent minister, priest, rabbi, (shaman, spiritual advisor, fill in your own) etc. to stand with you as you bestow respect and rememberance towards the memory of great, lost caches that are now archived. St. Fanurius of Geo seeks only those caches which were truly great, deserved to be honored and are now sorely missed.

About This Item

Do you mourn for the loss a particular archived cache which was quite special in it's location and/or design? Do you wish others could now experience the joy that you remembered when you were there? Our Saint offers comfort and gentleness for your geocacher heart.

All you need to do is invite our Saint along with you to the page of any archived geocache that is truly worthy of such a rememberance. Just Post A Note on the archived cache's page to drop off this bug and mention the Saint's role in visiting.

Then make sure you post a nicely detailed paragraph here describing your thoughts and your memories of the cache. Let us know why it was so special and why it is so missed nowadays. Just posting this TB in some cache with no note makes the Saint very sad, because he REALLY needs your written memories of the past cache in order to give a proper rememberance. Thanks for your detailed description of what made the cache worth a Saintly visit.

(IMPORTANT: As of April 20,2005, a detailed paragraph on this page is now a required rule. If this rule is not followed, a single polite reminder note will be sent by the owner to the cacher who didn't take the rule into consideration. A reminder note will also be posted by the TB owner on this page. If the log is not properly re-done within 7 days, that log will be deleted by the TB owner. Thank you for treating the Saint with proper respect.)

You never know... after the Saint is invited to be with you for a ceremony of respect and rememberance to a particular bygone cache, we may just witness this TB's rumored saintly powers of ressurrection! When that happens, we can claim an Official St. Fanurius of Geo Miracle. "Lo! For a great archived cache with no hope comes to life again! Hallelujah!!"

His name, St. Fanurius of Geo, is inspired by the name of the patron saint of lost things. Check out the history of the original saint name.

St. Fanurius of Geo's TB number is 454473. Please respect our Saint's sacred mission and guide his visits only towards those caches which are both bygone and greatly missed.

There is no longer a time limit for how long a worthy cache has been archived to make it eligible for a Saintly rememberance. Also, more than one person may join in memorials of the same cache (by 'grabbing' the bug and putting it back there with their own written eulogy-log on the cache page) IF the past cache is truly so worth such a salute. :)

Looks like the Saint is needed on a cache I deeply loved... it's back home for a little while for you, O Revered One...

This is a cache that holds special memories. It was a tremendous challenge and so much fun. I hated to see it get swallowed up by Poseidon; I never had the opportunity to seek the bonus treasures that Boonie Man is famous for and no one else will be able to enjoy the adventure. My log from 4/29/03 does not adequately express my exuberance for the day spent on the Indian River. Carry on.

Dropping it in my soon to be ( Friday ) archived cache! It was named after a "Great Geocacher" who left for the west coast. I'll be re-locating the cache, due to construction of a golf course going in, replacing a neighborhood park. Progress at its worst. SF1

Just wanted to tell that St. Fanurius of Geo TB might have helped getting my favorite cache unarchived. It is available again 😁. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=39e1b995-8b21-4939-9998-b3dbd7ebf3e4

I'm going to put this travel bug in a cache I found in Alaska which is the best walk to a cache in an interesting area. I had to pack in my wellies to cross a stream and following my GPS up and down the hills to get to the cache from a previous cache (I had no car so I was doing a grand circuit of caches using buses). This cache almost eluded me but I did find it. Since it was a large tube in the middle of nowhere and there was noone around when I found it and it was behind a hugh tree trunk so it couldn't be seen from the trail I just can't understand why noone found it afterwards. Alas it is now archieved, so maybe putting the travel bug there will help it be restored.

Through the seasons of rain, sun, and snow, may the plants and herbs here happily grow, Winter to spring summer to fall, lord and lady bless this cache one and all. I have brought with me Saint Farnius of Geo Virtual Travel Bug as one day this cache may be resurrected.
