It's My Party and I'll Cache If I Want To!

I originally released this bug on June 29, 2004, my 37th birthday. Today, two years later I'm staring at 40 coming up fast! What better way to celebrate the final year of my third decade than re-release this bug?!?!?!

On my 37th birthday, I hit my 500th find! Today I've chosen a cache at the same location to celebrate my birthday and hit my 1500th find! Wow! It's been a great two years. Let's see what the next one has in store!

Of course, what's a birthday without a party? Well, since the guest list today is very exclusive and you probably couldn't make it to the party anyway, I'm bringing the party to YOU!

  • Use the camera enclosed to take a picture of yourself...wherever you are.
  • Sign the enclosed birthday card.
  • Send the bug on to another cache so someone else can attend my party too!
  • When the camera is full, please contact me and I'll give you instructions on how to mail it back to me.

I'd love to have this bug back in time for my 40th Birthday. Let's see where it can go in the next 365 days and who can find it. Thanks for picking it up, moving it along, and most of all, thanks for coming to my party!

Well, after nearly a year and a half of celebrating, this bug finally made his way back home. Thanks to everyone who took care of it and celebrated along with me.

I'm posting the pictures. Since I don't know who's who on most of them I'm hoping the finders will eventually email me and confess as to who's who. If you recognize any of these people, please let me know.

Hmmmm, thirty-nine next year....maybe I'll have to send this one out again.

  • It's the Birthday Boy Himself! ME! Relaxing at Lucifer's Spine. It was a great hike and a great way to celebrate my birthday. I think I proved that at 37 I still had what it take to climb stairs.
  • Strohem Partys in Person The first person to log my bug and the only person on my birthday cache hunt. She looks like she's having fun. See what the rest of you missed by NOT being there for the real birthday?
  • Catfish Anyone? I recognize this place...this was taken at Geo-Woodstock 2 in Nashville, TN. They're fryin' up catfish here. If you scratch the picture and sniff it you can still smell the chefs.
  • More Woodstock 2 I'm not sure, but that might be me waaaayyyy back in the background. It's nice that I made it to my own party.
  • Mystery Shot 1 Not exactly sure who these people are...if they could step closer to the camera I could read the nametags.
  • Signing My Birthday Card I'm not exactly sure who this is, but using my Sherlock Holmes-like skills of deduction I can tell you that it is a right handed man, he's married and likes to know what time it is. He also really likes ketchup.
  • Mystery Shot 2 I know I would have had a good time here, I just would have probably turned some more lights on.
  • Mystery Shot 3 Not sure who this guy is, but he takes a nice picture.
  • Go Bulls! I'm pretty sure this is the shot taken by jklGoDuke and 	The Alethiometrists at the Durham Bulls' game. Thanks for celebrating....by the way, do you know where those things have been?!?!?!
