Elizabeth Jane Cochrane aka Nelly Bly war US-Journlisting und wurde 1888 von einer Zeitung ausgewählt, um die Reise in 80 Tagen um die Welt nach Jules Vernes Roman anzutreten. Start war am 14.11.1889 und nach 72 Tagen, 6 Stunden und 11 Minuten kam Nelly am Ziel an.
