About This Item

National Treasure Map

THIS IS NOT A TRAVEL BUG. It is a Key for the National Treasure Cache (Waypoint GC17VF6). DO NOT REMOVE THIS CACHE FROM THE AREA HIGHLIGHTED ON THE MAP SHOWN. In order to log this key, you must include a photo of yourself with the key. Please do not let the secret coordinate show in your photograph.

There are several other rules regarding this key since it is tied to a cache with a difficulty of 5:

1. At least one member of your caching party must physically move the key to a new location within 72 hours of logging that you have located that key. (List this person's screen name in your log.) That location must be within 15 miles of the coordinates listed on the cache page for the National Treasure Cache (or within the highlighted area on the map).

2. Keys may only be placed in caches that are rated 3.5 or less on difficulty and terrain.

3. Only one key may be in a given cache at a time. Please do not place both keys in the same cache.

4. Keys may not attend event caches -- only physical caches allowed. Remember, the security of the treasure is at stake!

Followed mndvs737 and watch for any suspicious activity. I saw nothing in particular, but a gut feeling said the key was in danger and I should move this to a new and more secure location. Will deposit it in a safe place soon

The key was well protected by some scurvy-dog pirates and their assortment of booby traps, but I made it through their lines to the the chest. There was no fear of aerial bombardment today, but I heard ground forces all around me -- never made any visual contact, though.

After securing the key, I began to head back for the extraction point. I was not followed by any of the pirates (they must have taken too much grog trying to stay warm to have had any notice of me), and I don't think that anyone else followed me either.

I know that I only have half of the information I need, but half is better than none. I will post the required picture soon -- I don't think "they" monitor this channel of communications. I am watching my back though -- "they" must want this treasure as much as I do.
