Yard Bird's mission is rather simple, he is trying to get to Squam Lake (Golden Pond) in New Hampshire. He would like to end up near Camp Deerwood in Holderness, NH. He would like to get there by first of August 2005, but any time would be great. Squam River Covered Bridge cache (GCD92A) would be great. NO, SQUAM RIVER COVERED BRIDGE IS A BAD CACHE FOR TRAVEL BUGS. TRY ROCKA DWELLER (GCKK93) OR BELKNAP WOODS CACHE (GCJTD3). I WILL BE THERE THE WEEK OF 8/15/05.
Yard Bird is getting old and a bit confused. He thinks he is a Loon and wants to get to Golden Pond with the other Loons that live there. Yard Bird was attempting to get to Squam Lake the summer of 2004, but did not make it. Now he is in a race with Deerwood Loon (TBG09P) (DEERWOOD MADE IT BUT WAS STOLEN AT SQUAM RIVER COVERED BRIDGE)and needs to get moving. Deerwood started his journey on 2/12/05 from Naples, FL. and will probably fly. My son works at Camp Deerwood and I will be visiting the camp during the middle of August and would like to pick one or both travel bugs up when I am up there. If the travel bugs meet along the way I would like a picture of them together. Please take pictures of Yard Bird at as many stops as possible. Yard Bird made it to Waukewan Highlands Cache eleven days after I found the cache. Perhaps he can stay in The New England area for a year and I can pick him up next August (2006).

Hopefully we can help get Yard Bird on his way to Squam Lake as soon as possible, it's getting colder and colder but will make every effort to get him on his way. Will advise if there will be a delay. neonblue-

Seemed to be hanging around to long so I picked it up on a maintainence visit. Cache was full of water so Yard Bird was too. He is drying out for a bit, then will be on the road again!

Grabbed the yard bird based on a waypoint I had left over from another trip. I did not know yard bird was so close to its destination. He'll have to do a little more traveling to go from the ocean to the lake.

Yard Bird, it took you a little over a year to make the trip to Squam Lake, but you were eleven day late. I was at the cache you are in almost two weeks ago, but better late than never. I hope you will stay in The New England area for another year and I will pick you up next August. I may get some friends to grab you if they get the chance. Deerwood loon beat you, but was stolen when he got to the final destination. -- Pittsburgh Transplant --
