On your way up to Svatojánská skalní stěna stop by this small chapple and find another cache. Behind the chapple there is a nice view.This chapel is built on the site where, according to legend, St. Jan Křtitel appeared to the hermit Ivan. In 1602 Herman Kryštof Russworm made an altar with a cross and statues, from a local red marble, of St. John the Baptist from and the hermit Ivan. The statues are Rare Renaissance specimens and belond to one of the oldest stone sculptural groups in Bohemia. However, it suffered greatly from the weather, so in 1714 the abbot of St. John Emilián Kotterovský, had the chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross built over the statues. The chappel was built according to the design of Kryštof Dientzenhofer. Until 1865, the floor was ornated with a Greek cross with four symmetrical gables. At that time, however, during the necessary repair, two opposite shields were demolished and the chapel received its present appearance.

Herman Kryštof Russworm zhotovit z mistniho červeného mramoru oltář s křížem a sochami sv. Jana Křtitele a poustevnika Ivana.
Původní podoba sousoší před odstraněním nekamenných ni sousoší patři k nejstaršim kamenným sousošim v Čechách.
Představuje ústřední motiv svatojanské legendy předáni křiže sv. Ivanovi od sv. Jana Křtitele.
Sousoší původné stávalo volně pod širým nebem.
Značně však trpélo povétrnostními vlivy, a tak nad nim svatojánský opat Emilián Kotterovský nechal roku 1714 postavit kapli
Povýšení svatého Kříže. Ta byla postavena podle návrhu Kryštofa Dientzenhofera. Do roku 1865 mela pūdorys řeckého křiže se čtyřmi
soumérnými štíty. Tehdy však byly při nutné opravě dva protilehle štity zbořeny a kaple dostala dnešni podobu.
