Geocache Description:

Welcome to 2007. Welcome to the Mount Day Quadrangle.

This cache is a decon located at a pullout on Kincaid Road, with a wonderful view of Lick Observatory, one of my favorite places.

Kincaid Road splits off of Mt. Hamilton Road and winds through a pretty but seldom-seen area. It dead ends at a gate after about six miles, but I don't mind if a good backroad goes nowhere. According to one source, Kincaid used to be a part of an old stage road from Livermore to San Jose.

Besides the twisty Mt. Hamilton Road you have to drive to get here, Kincaid gets narrow and bumpy in places, although it's still suitable to all normal passenger vehicles. Watch for ice in the winter, when Mt. Hamilton Rd. is also subject to temporary closure (back down at Grant Ranch) if they get snow up top. Please drive carefully and please be respectful to the locals.

The posted coordinates were averaged and should be good, although the two Magellans that were here registered closer to .730' .267'. The cache shouldn't be difficult to find and there's no reason to go down the slope or anything. The 2* terrain rating is more for the drive that's involved than for the cache location which would be 1*. The hint should pretty much be a spoiler.

As noted by the attributes, I recommend that this cache only be done during daylight hours.
