Hoffman Park: Taps Traditional Geocache
Spike007: This one has had close to a 15-year run, but I think it's time to let it go and make room for something new. (Seems like too many muggles are aware of this cache.) Thanks to all that visited this great park!

Maynard “Spike” Hoffman Park is a gem in River Falls. Alot of recreational opportunities here, including camping, skateboard park, baseball, soccer, ice skating, sledding, and much more. Given Maynard’s nickname, it seemed appropriate for us to place a few caches here.
The Boy Scout Mound park trails are a great place to walk any time of year (or cross-country ski in winter). Cache is located on the trails with ample parking at N44 51.994 W092 36.581. Big trees, scenic vistas, and interesting rocks can be found as well as some creative structures constructed by local scout troops. Enjoy the stroll and views along these trails!
As we were placing this cache, a 21-gun salute followed by Taps was observed at the local Greenwood cemetery. Cache is a nice-sized PB holding the usual trade items. You can take the paved trail most of the way to this one from the parking location - not far from either trail.
