Maynard “Spike” Hoffman Park is a gem in River Falls. Alot of recreation opportunities here, including camping, skateboard park, baseball, soccer, ice skating, sledding, and much more. Given Maynard’s nickname, it seemed appropriate for us to place a few caches here.
The Boy Scout Mound park trails are a great place to walk any time of year (or cross-country ski in winter). Cache is located on the trails with ample parking at N44 51.994 W092 36.581. Big trees, scenic vistas, and interesting rocks can be found as well as some creative structures constructed by local scout troops. Enjoy the stroll and views along these trails!
Take the scenic trails to the Northeast part of this park - cache is not too far from the edge of the trail. Don't have to go down the hill too far, but you may encounter a couple thorns.
