Geocache Description:

Camoed pill bottle. There is room for very small trades. BYOP.

Near here on the beach are the ribs of the 507 ton, three-masted barkentine Freeda A. Wyley. The ship burned to the water line after encountering a hurricane offshore in 1893. Its heavy wooden hull drifted onto the beach and remained a local conversation piece for nearly a century. The remains of the ship are still there, but they are no longer viewable because of the city's beach renourishment projects in the 1990's. But, you never know when Mother Nature may decide to pull the sand off the beach during a severe storm to expose the ship again. So, walk the few extra steps beyond the cache and take a look...you never know what you might see. BTW, a barkentine is a three to five-masted ship on which square rigging is only on the first mast.
