The 2nd poetry cache by Skinnymalinky. It has been adapted
following an inspirational idea from Haggis Hunter (even though he
doesn’t know he gave it to us), and is therefore dedicated to him.
Disclaimer - We have never met HH so don’t know if this is
an accurate portrayal ( but we like to think so). Either way he has
provided us with many exciting caches in our short time
geocaching
Update Spring 2007
Having met HH on a few occassions we would like to add how pleased
we are that we hid this cache in his honour - He's a great
guy.
The Cache is not at the above co-ordinates but you can start there
if you want.
The terrain can be quite muddy but is fairly easy going. Stealth
may be required "watch out for muggles". The cache is small
so please bring a pen/pencil. Once you have found
it please do not reveal any detail of the hiding method in your
logs.
Ode to Haggis Hunter
Out he strode, one clear blue day
With views of hill and sky
He started out in Edinburgh
At a Point 91 metres high
Along the road with hat and scarf
He marched along, he could not wait
He passed the Loch and with Silva in hand
He read out seventy-eight
As the crow flies he crossed the hill
For half of half a K
And lying on the other side
A large stone was seen to lay
So from this stone he looked around
A song came from his mouth
And music followed down the hill
As he walked down to the South
Charging down the grassy bank
There sitting for all to see
Was the purpose of his outdoor quest
A path between some trees
To left and right the trees were thick
He needed all his might
But a short way down they opened out
and ended on the right
Left he turned through the jaggy leaves
Which would have turned back most
And there behind a special tree
He spied an upright post
And there within, no Haggis seen
For this Hunt was not for food
A small but well formed Geocache
Nestling within the wood.
