Geocache Description:

In Machimoodus State Park, off a trail that runs between the two Salmon River overlooks.

Machimoodus is the Indian word for the famous "Moodus Noises", strange audible rumblings that are seismic in origin and that figure prominently in Native American lore. The noises, described as similar to distant thunder or cannon fire, were likely caused by earthquakes otherwise too small to notice.
