Not happy about it but I am archiving this one, but will place another in the area if things improve in the future.

Geocache Description:

Hawks Tor is a gentle climb from a number of parking areas. The views on a clear day are outstanding, from Plymouth Sound right up the West side of the Southern Moor to Princetown.

Please do not leave Geocoins in this cache as two have been removed recently and not logged.

Hawks Tor featured in Eden Phillpotts book "The Three Brothers" and is was at Hawk House that the dreaded Uncle Humphrey Baskerville lived. One of the few pleasures in his life was to sit up on Hawks Tor and take in the views, something we are lucky enough still to be able to do over 70 years after the book was written.

The cache is hidden quite a way under a rock so you will have to reach for it. It was hidden this way so it is not visible from any angle when approaching the rock and hopefully will not be discovered by local children who play up here. Please replace as you find it.

The cache is a small clip lock container and contains log book, pencil and some small swap items.
