A Hop, Skip and a Jump Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Beagle-1: I am not sure if the cache is really gone or not. The little cave it was hidden in is now entirely full of dirt and debris. Not going to dig it out to find out as it is likley gone, and now no room for a replacement.

Opening up the area for another new cache

Geocache Description:

A backyard ravine located in Alcona on the western shore of Lake Simcoe. A hop, skip and a jump (240 meters) should make this a quick and easy find.

This backyard ravine is just under 700 meters long and runs from Webster Boulevard to a set of rail road tracks parallel to the 7th line in Alcona (Innisfil). It is a pleasant walk for family and pets, easily accessible year round. The walking trails run on both sides of the stream from Webster Blvd to a stone bridge approximately half way and then just on the north side towards the R.R. tracks There are four pedestrian entrances providing easy access to the gravel bed walking trails. Recommended parking is at N44 18.052 W79 33.556. Please notice the fire hydrant when you park. From here it is about 240 meters to this cache. The last 10 meters or so are off trail and will require some bushwhacking. I have traversed this ravine a few times. The Spring snow melt (or any large storm) raises the water level considerable making the cache more difficult to reach. In the photographs you will notice quite a few large trees pushed over from running water – recommend approaching the cache when the streams are low. Use discretion when approaching the cache as there are likely to be muggles in the area and return it in the same placement as found. The cache itself will blend in well with the surroundings and will not be noticeable until almost in hand. The original contents of this 4" dia x 9" long cameo covered plastic jar cache are: 1) Log book and pencil 2) Geocache site notice 3) Geo coin 4) Rock 95 key chain 5) Sombrero 6) Valentine heart 7) Fair Maiden bean 8) Button 9) Stamp & coin 10) Glue sticks 11) Dragon 12) Looney
