We have moved the cache down the trail because it was muggled and the log the cache was under was destroyed. New coordinates listed above. More detailed description is below.
The waters in this spring have been reputed to have exceptional purity, and some ascribe medicinal properties to it. It is located at the northwest end of Spruce Spring Park, off of Love Creek Road. This is a nice place for children, with large open spaces and some playground equipment. One may have large group picnics under the roofed pavilion or individual picnics on tables scattered about the high ground.
Across the creek from the spring is a trail into the woods. It makes a lovely (but noisy) loop along the creek. We recommend the trail. Heavy tree cover may mess up your reception, but you should be able to get close.
The cache is a camoed medium sized lock-and-lock placed on the uphill side of the trail. Look for a double-trunk tree in the middle of the trail. And then look for a triple-trunk tree about 15 feet or so uphill. The cache is near the triple-trunk tree.
If you know anything about the history of the spring, let us know!
