Have a Ball! Traditional Cache
credenza: It looks like this one has gone missing. Instead of replacing, it I'm going to go ahead and archive it because 1) it is causing a path and 2) it is hardly accessible 8 months out of the year due to mud. It was fun while it lasted!

A lesser-known (often muddy) path located near one of the best open
recreation spots in Anacortes.
Throughout my whole childhood, Smiley's bottom (a.k.a. Volunteer
Park) was the place to go for playing. Soccer practice and games
were there. Various activities for high school P.E. were there.
Baseball was there. One time, after a huge flood, we even
skimboarded there. I still play frisbee there. It is also a great
place to throw a ball for a dog.
The best parking is either behind the high school off of 17th and K
Ave during non-school hours or in the baseball fields' parking lot
off 13th and G Ave. The trailhead to the cache is on the south end
of all the fields. During the fall/winter/spring months, the trail
can be very muddy.
The ammo box is hidden about 10 meters north of the trail at the
base of a clump of 4 or 5 trees. Otherwise, please stay on the
trail as this is a sensitive wetlands area. This trail is used
by the high school cross country team. If you continue on it, it
will come back around to the parking lots near the baseball
fields.
THIS IS A THEME CACHE! All item in this cache are spherical;
baseball, racquetball, marble, foosball, bouncy ball, etc. Let's
keep it this way. So bring a ball, take a ball, and have a
ball!
Be sure to read the latest logs to check on trail conditions.
During the rainy season, it can get so muddy as to be impassable.
