A wilderness cache. This 4.5 km round trip is mostly on Rocky terrain with some scrub brush & minimal bushwaking. Long views across multiple ponds is the reward. The scenery here is similar to the Kashe & Torrence Barrens. Enjoy !
The start of this hike is at the corner of Fairgrounds Rd. & Rama/Dalton Boundary Rd. and the only access point to this crown land. There is room to park on the roadside. The 1st part of the hike follows the OFSC trail & will lead you to the cache "Off The Beaten Track" (GC101XN). The remainder of the way is unmarked with no trail to follow. Feel free to make your own path, but remember that the shortest route is not always the easiest. I have included some waypoints for a suggested route to help navigate the ponds & make for an easier walk. It is very wide open so GPS signal will not be a problem here. The cache is a medium size thermos. Hunters also use this area so visible orange clothing is advised in season.
