Curry Park consists of two parcels of land. The smaller, 1.5 acres eastern block is a gift deeded to the Municipality by the Curry family. The 2.3 acres western block is the more actively used part of the park with picnic tables and mature trees offering an inviting venue for a summertime respite by Kemptville Creek. A popular boat launch divides the two parcels. The Municipality installs a floating dock during the warmer months and the Kinsmen clear a space on the frozen creek for an ice rink during the winter. In previous years, Curry Park has been the site of annual Canada Day celebrations although Riverside Park is the more customary venue.
The cache container is a concealed 326g coffee can. I scouted this park no fewer than four times before settling on this location and this design. This cache, like the one in Bishop’s Mills Community Park, is possible only because of the cooperation of Municipal staff. Special thanks to Darren Patmore, Director, Parks, Recreation & Culture and Kevin Henry, Facilities Superintendent for their support with my cache placements.
I recommend that you read the clue before setting off for this cache although you do not need the clue to find the cache. Beware that Curry Park sees a lot of visitors, especially in the warmer months. You will need to be creative to retrieve and replace this cache without attracting the attention of muggles!
