This is located in the Skylands Manor section of Ringwood State Park, between Gatun Pond and Weyble Pond.
These man-made ponds are listed as the Emerald Pools on a 1937 map of the Skylands estate. I am not sure as to why they were made although I was told that they were settling ponds for the water supply for the estate. This does not seem likely though, as the water supply, for Skylands, comes from Weyble Pond via a six inch underground water main that ends at the Manor pump house. There is a fire hydrant next to one of the ponds. This hydrant is connected to the water main which runs next to the pond and back in the 70’s, I got to watch it in action when it was used to flush the sediment out of the pond. I was surprised at the amount of pressure that was available.
The cache is located by the other pond and it is packed tight with goodies, so please do not bring anything too large to trade with.
