Geocache Description:

Cache on nature walk near Grey River Picnic area. Easy terrain, short walk involved.

Original cache lost to nature! It has now been replaced with another, hopefully this time in a safer spot.

Access to this cache is west from Amberley via Douglas and Cramptons Bush Roads. Pass the Lake Janet picnic area (below Mt Grey)and continue on the forest road to the Grey River picnic area This cache is located part the way round an easy nature walk which is a loop track.

Park at the Grey River picnic area and commence the track from either end. The cache is located nearer to the start point of the trail nearest to the ford but, of course, is accessible from either start.

The trail takes about an hour to complete. It would be suitable for most people but beware with children as there are some steep drops and could be wasps at certain times of the year.

NOTE: This cache is NOT near the steep drop!

Although there is poor GPS coverage in the forest, there is some coverage at the cache location. The walk takes you through remnant native forest and gives good views of the Grey River and Mount Grey where another cache is situated. (Ashley Views GCMJ3T)

Once you have found the cache please hide it again so that it is not visible by muggles on the path then stop at the handy bench and admire the view of the fire lookout on Mt Grey.

The cache is in a 200ml snaplock container with initial contents: logbook, ball, travel bug, tweezers, sewing kit and a tape measure.
