Geocache Description:

This Cache was previously listed as The Lake Busbee cache, but we adopted it! We changed the name to honor a dear friend who passed away on January 5th, his name is Walter Niemeyer, he served our country and fought in the Vietnam war, the movie We Were Soldiers is about his platoon...

I will be replaced 9-2-17 early in the day! Lots of swag! Please take a pen! or a handful! they are there for the taking, perhaps to be a staple in your caching bag!!! Happy Caching!

Quick park & grab. Located near Lake Busbee which helps power the Dolphus M. Grainger power plant. The steam power plant was financed in 1965 by Central Electric Power Cooperative. In 1969, energy sales exceeded 1,000,000,000 kilowatt hours. Many visitors who visit the Grand Strand use this lake as a "we are almost there" landmark. Enjoy!
