Thornycrofts roundabout park in Morrisons or at N51 15.888 W001.06.346 in the new Wicks car park. this is now a magnetic nano the 4th time we have replaced the cache hopefully it will remain
An open air swimming pool used to be on this spot and was replaced by an enormous roundabout with slippery chalk banks where unauthorised motorbikes used to scramble, once they were evicted it was left to the wildlife but with the building of the then Safeways it was completley remodelled and shrunk. This Town Centre West roundabout is named after Thornycrofts for many years one of Basingstoke's main employers, some of their original vehicles can now be seen in the milestones museum. The underpass has also been painted in keeping with the museum
