Old Stomping Grounds - Wild Child Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

mudsneaker: I hate to let this cache location go, but it's become more clear that I just am not able to find time to get up there and replace it. I love the area, and hope that someone will place a nice quality cache here so others will have a reason to come and enjoy it as well.

Thanks for the memories.......

From the days gone past

a place that changed its look, but not its memories for me

Long ago growing up in the nearby neighborhood, my friends and I on occasion would need to get just a little farther away from the parents to do those things that kids aren't suppose to do. In this far corner of the area, we could walk down a old path to the river and have our seclusion to light a fire, drink and be merry without concern of being found. I cannot begin to tell the tales of the good times we had, but Im sure many of you reading this have a place in your past like this, holding your own fond memories of the carefree days.

Now jump to present day. The area has transformed into something I dont recognize, but can appreciate. The old path has been paved over, a bridge now built over the creek. The creek itself has been channeled by logs to control its yearly wanderings. Its now become part of the Olympic Discovery Trail, with 30 miles completed, 30 more funded, with a goal of 100 miles total.  There is a flattened area with a picnic table to enjoy a lunch or to just sit and chat with friends/loved ones. Just down the road, .6 mile, is Robin Hill Farm Park ( GCQCTM), that has many more tables, restrooms, and a large parking lot. You can choose to walk or bike ride from there, or simply pull off the road near the cache on the corner of Pinnell Rd and N Solmar Rd.

This cache is dedicated to those places from our youth that hold special memories. While your here, be sure to pause for a bit, listen to the creek roll by, and think about that place you went to as a youngster to get away and have the fun you weren't suppose to have.

This is the second in the OSG series
