This cache is placed on the grounds of the historic Willmore Lodge with permission from the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Adirondack styled Willmore Lodge was constructed from Western white pine logs in Oregon, then marked, disassembled, and transported by train to Missouri. It was reassembled at the present site using only square wooden pegs and overlapping corner saddle notchings to hold it together. Stone for the patios and fireplace were hauled from local area quarries.
Preserved as a historic site, the Lodge houses a museum that tells the history of the region, the story of the Osage River, the creation of Bagnell Dam, and the development of the Lake of the Ozarks. The Lake Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes you and invites you to tour the Lodge and museum.
Thank you for seeking our cache.
