Come and walk the tombstones to find this small cache with a great view.
Rutter Parkway was built by the WPA (Works Progress Administration) between 1936 and 1938. The road is named after R.L. Rutter who owned land along the route and was construction supervisor. The WPA erected granite posts along the side of the Parkway as a safety measure to serve as guardrails. The granite was salvaged from local rock quarries. When Rutter Parkway was realigned in 2005 many of these granite “tombstones” were placed along this abandoned section. It makes very a pleasant and historic walk to take a good look at the Nine Mile Dam.
Bring your own pen. Cache can hold small items, geocoins and some bugs.
Please hide the cache better than you found it.
