“INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries and historic sites built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just over two years, the quest has grown to five hundred caches hidden in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan and Ontario and the hiders have grown to THIRTY cacher teams, most of which are comprised of Dogs and their Humans. Over 1,000 cacher teams have logged over 20,500 finds. .

"Shultz Cemetery"
This quest in southwest Morgan County will bring you to the Shultz cemetery. Still an active cemetery, headstones were observed as far back as 1849. Only a couple of Civil War veterans will be found here, but there are many more World War II veterans. Watch for a small street sign mounted on the same pole as a stop sign, pointing the way to the cemetery. You will travel back a gravel drive that leads to 3 homes, as well as the cemetery.
Civil War Veteran
William Bunton was a member of the 148th Indiana Infantry. This was one of the last regiments raised in Indiana prior to the end of the war. The regiment was mustered in February of 1865 and performed guard and garrison duty in Nashville and central Tennessee. They lost 2 men to action and 34 to disease before being discharged in September of 1865.
The Old Soldier
This grave caught my attention due to the age of the sailor. Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Isaac Bange would have been 49 years old when World War II started. I can only guess he was a career military man, but I have not been able to uncover any further details on his service in the Navy. He would have been 52 years old at the end of the war, which is unusual for all but high ranking officers.
FIND LOGS ON THIS CACHE THAT INDICATE NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE!!
The cache container is A PRESCRIPTION BOTTLE. A small bison tube is included for FTF.You MUST sign the log to claim a Smilie. If you cache at night, or don't sign the log, or reveal the additional hint in your log, or don't fulfill any additional requirements, your find log will be deleted without notice...If you think these terms to be unfair, don't bother to hunt this cache. The cache is not located near a grave... If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the ground. As always, please be respectful of our pioneer dead and cache in, trash out.
