Located in Valley of Fire state park. Close to the road, but some rock scrambling is required.
This cache was planted on Jen's birthday. "Holed Up In Sherbert" was named such because of how the colourful rocks reminded us of that delicious frozen treat.
The cache is located in the Valley of Fire State park (there is an entrance fee of $6 per vehicle). The closest parking area is the Rainbow Vista parking lot, where there are picnic tables and access to a nice (but short) hiking trail. There are several other caches in the area though, so take a picnic and turn it into an all-day adventure!
The cache is close to the road, but will require some tricky rock scrambling. Please be careful on the rocks, and be aware that this may not be suitable for all dogs, though our geohound made it just fine. Be sure to take a camera, since there are some very nice views from the cache.
We placed lots of goodies inside the cache, including a First to Find prize that will help a cacher get started with electronic caching. We also placed the LiveStrong Travel Bug in the cache. The original contents of the cache included:
