the cache is located along highway 20 in western colusa county. it is one of a series that i call the "road to clear lake." all caches are near the road, you can drive within a few steps of them. each cache is named after an automobile that i encountered in my youth.
in the early 1960's i worked for an ex-navy man, commander conestoga, who drove a studebaker silver hawk. he was an easy-going scotsman, never a speedster, who championed hard work. he worked his way up to being president of the company. he never did anything on a lark. he once told me that such notables as judy garland, ed sullivan, and roger ebert drove studebakers...
