the cache is located along highway 20 in western colusa county. it is one of a series that i call the "road to clear lake." all caches are near the road, you can drive within a few steps of them. each cache is named after an automobile that i encountered in my youth.
my friend hernando was proud of his 1942 desoto. it was fitted with pop up headlights--a first for an american mass-production vehicle. it became a custom for this adventurer to go zipping around in his deluxe powermaster, pulling an airstream behind him. as i recall, his favorite tv show was about richie and the fonz where one could see mr cunningham driving an old 1946 desoto. ah, yes, those were happy days...
