An alternative to Cayuga’s Wandering Through Lancaster #7 for those
that do not appreciate the fun that can be had trudging through a
quarter mile of muck to locate a cache in a field which conceals
rubbish hidden in the weeds. The cache is located on the grounds of
Como Lake Park which has posted hours of 7:00 AM til
dusk.
It’s been almost a year now since we placed the original Wandering
Through Lancaster # 7 cache and frankly we never really liked the
location we choose for it. Although most posted positive logs after
finding it we really didn’t believe they really enjoyed having the
boots sucked off their feet by the ooze we led you through. I ‘ll
always remember White skunk and Red Bull’s log which proclaimed it
to be a very nasty walk in and their vow to not return. I don’t
blame them. Revisiting the cache today and seeing trash lying
underneath the weed growth sealed the deal for us and we decided
you deserve better. Today we placed a companion cache very near the
original. This new placement will cause you to traverse exactly
zero feet of muddy trails. Heck you can do it in flip flops and
keep your toes clean. Depending on your choice of parking spot the
hike to the cache site could be as little as 5 feet. I’ll bet a
creative parallel parker might be able to recover the cache without
setting foot on the ground. It will be also be available during
periods of inclement weather. Snow, ha we laugh at snow it might
even assist you finding the cache if used properly. Rain, no
problemo dudes, as this cache offers shelter from the storm. No
need for sunscreen at this one either because you’ll have it made
in the shade. So there you have it, pretty much a cache you can
find in your church/work/wedding clothes with no worries of mussing
up your hair on the way to the office. We hope it makes up for all
the shiny mud boot sucking you have endured. The clue inside is the
same as contained in the original #7 so if you have completed the
series this one really won’t do anything special for you. It’s just
our way of saying we know we screwed up the first time around and
wanted to get it right this time.
