Dogwood Relocated Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.
If the owner would like to discuss this issue, please contact me through my geocaching.com profile. Include the GC code for the cache.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

Located at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex. Container is a large ammo can.

Park is open year round Monday – Friday 8am -5pm. The Complex is not open to the public at night or weekends unless there are games scheduled on the fields. Weekend tournaments begin in March and go through October

If the gates are closed you can still walk or ride a bike in. There is a great bike path that goes right by the cache.

We originally placed this cache in Waller Mill Park, Williamsburg in December of 2001. When Hurricane Isabel visited Tidewater it caused extensive damage to Waller Mill park. The cache survived the hurricane but that section of the park has still not been reopened to hiking. The cache was left in place but could only be reached by boat. Then a change in park regulations prohibited beaching of boats so the cache had to be archived. I was finally able to retrieve the cache yesterday and we moved it to it's new location tonight. It won't be as fun as the old location but it should be a lot easier to get to.
