The Mailbox Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

sregitum: I finally had a chance to check on the cache and it does appear to be gone. So we are going to archive this one. Please send all future "Mailbox correspondence" to the ESU Scavenger Cache and I will collect the postcards from there.

It is a nice area, perhaps someone can place a new cache here again sometime.

Geocache Description:

Take a short hike to The Mailbox and help a postcard reach its destination. 49 state postcards have been placed with the goal to find their way to their respective states, and then return to this cache.

This cache has two sides. The "outgoing" part of this cache initially contains the 49 state postcards. Please take a postcard and help it get closer to its particular state. You may leave other postcards or Travel Bugs if you wish, but you don't have to trade to take a postcard. Don't forget to log your visit on the "outgoing" logbook.

The "incoming" side will receive the state postcards as they reach their destination state and then return to Emporia. If you happen to find one of these state postcards and return it to The Mailbox, then place it in the "incoming" side and sign that logbook. Which state will return first??

Cache is a clear container less than 0.5 miles from parking. (It is best to exit at Merchant and drive underneath I-35 and then park on the north side of the interstate.) The correct trail will take you very close to the cache. In the winter it is a relatively easy hike with little overgrowth, but can be a little muddy after rain. Don't know about the summer yet.
