Geocache Description:

Easy flat terrain, some steps. No climbing. Railings protect water access, but caution should be used near the water. Extra caution should be used with children. It's a public marina, with lots of free parking.

Portsmouth Olympic harbour was built in 1976 for the sailing events of the Montreal Olympics. The harbour entrance is quite shallow and exposed to the prevailing strong SW winds. These conditions can create large breaking waves which can cause trouble for small boats entering or exiting the harbour.

There is no climbing required.
Please respect the railings and stay safe.
The cache is not on the rails or its supports.

The area is wheelchair accessible, however, there are three steps on the path to the cache. It is a short, but interesting walk from the parking area. Kids really enjoy the location, and the walk to GZ, but care should be taken with young kids near the water. This cache should take about 15 minutes, including the walk.

Please note: The cache site is usually VERY windy.
The FTF experienced 40 km/h winds, which are not uncommon.
Please keep a firm grip on the log, cache, hats, etc.

Congratulations to swimmrguy on the FTF!
