For my 100th listing on Geocaching.com it seemed that only an
Event could capture the spirit of Geocaching, an activity that has
brought many of us much joy and fun while challenging us in ways we
will never forget!
- DATE: 08/08/08 - Friday August 8th, 2008 - Quasy 8's

- TIME: Dinner 6pm - 8pm, Trivia starts at 8pm, You can
still order food and drink during the trivia portion.
- WHERE: London Arms/Kahunaville on the Western side of
the Pen Centre near the cinemas.
The London Arms has their own website that offers more
information.
The main dinner portion is spread out from 6pm to 8pm so that
people can arrive as they please and this also helps the kitchen
and wait staff be able to handle the workload easier. A relaxed
event, with lots of time for talking and laughing as people filter
in before the trivia, still with time for everyone to be able to
eat.
As a part of this Event, there will be a 64 question trivia
night competition. Questions will range from local cachers and
caches to other geocaching related items. Basically if the answer
can be found on geocaching.com then it might be on the list. Of
course, reading some OGA newsletters would probably be a good idea
too (hint, hint)
Even if you don't enjoy trivia, or feel that you might not score
as well as some others you will certainly have a great time
socializing with a large number of cachers and exchanging tales
about the joys and frustrations of geocaching.
We have the entire backroom booked for our group. The area
features many televisions which will allow everyone to easily see
any visual trivia questions.
Each table will be a Trivia Team so be sure to sit with your
team mates! Trivia will be divided into eight themed rounds of
eight questions with breaks between some rounds to allow people to
get up and mingle or grab a drink or smoke.
THE SCORING TEAM - Wogga and Stripey will be our
scoring panel, they accept bribes but offer little in return for
them!
If you are interested in attending ths event whether it be for
dinner, to play in the trivia game or to help out, please log a
"WILL ATTEND" log and be sure to state how many people will be
coming. The management needs to know how much staff and food to
have ready so that we can have an enjoyable time. An understaffed
event is not fun for anyone, so let's do our part to help with the
preparations!
THE BLACKHOLE FOR TRAVEL BUGS &
GEOCOINS: Most people know just how much I enjoy Travel Bugs
and Geocoins. Events have been called the "Blackhole for
trackables" since they often seem to go missing once they are
brought to an Event. So I will be setting up a special container
for all Travel Bugs and Geocoins to be placed into. After the
event, they will all be released back into the world, so I do
STRONGLY encourage you to collect and bring any and all Travel Bugs
and Geocoins to this event. Like a Blackhole though, once they go
in, they don't come out. But as some theorize, things that enter a
Blackhole might come out in a whole new location! Here is your
chance to be part of that science experiment! Bring as many Travel
Bugs and Geocoins and hand them off to me when you arrive and they
will be added to the list that are prepared for this epic
journey!
