New Hudson Motor Inn Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

South Lyon Trekkers: After 104 finds the first DNF appeared on this cache. I went to check it and the cache was gone. The cache was set back 500+ feet and there is no other reason to go back there, so I don't know quite what to think. It is gone. I searched around for it but no sign. Bummer. I do not have any current plans to replace the cache, but may do so down the road. Thanks to all who visited. -SLT

Geocache Description:

This geocache is located along I-96 at exit 155A or 155B, Milford Rd. in a wooded area adjacent to the MDOT Carpool Parking Lot. To get to the parking lot, turn north from either exit. The parking lot is on the west side of Milford Rd. Use the traffic light at the intersection of Pontiac Trail and Milford Rd. There are many fences around various properties here. No fence jumping is required. According to Lyon Township, this wooded area is located on MDOT property and therefor public.

After a great geocaching expedition to Michigan's north, the travel bugs and geocoins we collected needed a rest. With no local establishments within a few miles we decided to open the New Hudson Motor Inn. It is a place for travel bugs and geocoins to take a break from traveling and/or look for a ride to continue their journey.

This geocache is stocked with both travel bugs and geocoins. It is NOT stocked with the usual swag as it is not intended for that. Geocachers should feel free to seek the cache and discover the travel bugs and geocoins in it with no obligation. Drop-offs are welcome too. It is expected however that a geocacher who would like to retrieve a travel bug or geocoin do so by trading for one he or she has brought to the New Hudson Motor Inn.

It would also be very helpful that any travel bugs or geocoins that are checked in or out be logged in the log book at the geocache as well as on the log here on the web page.

The container is a rectangular, clear, Lock & Lock box with some camouflage Duck Tape strategically placed. Inside is a smaller Lock & Lock box. The log can be found here. We call it the Signature Item Conference Center. Please feel free to leave signature items here.

We received tax incentives to build the New Hudson Motor Inn here as it is in a rehabilitation zone. Although the wooded area is pretty much spotless, the parking lot area is in serious need of some CITO work. Please pick up a few pieces of trash when leaving. Kudos to anyone who takes the water heater!

We take great care in creating and hiding our geocaches. If ever one of our geocaches needs maintenance of any type, please do not hesitate to contact us by posting a log or by e-mail. We will promptly rectify the problem.

Don't forget Cache In Trash Out.

An unactivated travel bug was the FTF prize. It was claimed by michigansnorkeler on January 8, 2007. Congratulations!
