The cache is placed in a little rotting stump right next to the trail: you do not need to leave the trail to find this cache!
Cache location is along the steps where the Golden Cascades ends and Silver Falls just begins.
A very peaceful and pleasing area, be forewarned that it can generate a lot of muggle hikers. (In fact I was surprised that there were several today along this trail this afternoon on a clear and sunny winter's day.)
Bring a camera if you can: the falls and cascades along the creek can be pretty impressive! The picture attached is of Silver Falls from below.
If you backpack, you'll find this cache is quite close to the Sunset Camp in Big Basin.
GPS reception was spotty so don't be shy about using the hint.
