Geocache Description:

North Carolina Central Area Cache Keepers and Loggers Enterprise (NC-CACKLE) is a loosely formed group of cachers dedicated to the betterment of Geocaching in the Sanford/Lee County and surrounding area.

STEALTH MAY BE REQUIRED.

We were amazed with all the history this graveyard beholds.

Built on land from a King's grant this Circa-1790 church features an Old Slave Gallery, exterior bullet holes from Civil War battle, and graves of area pioneer settlers. Listed in the National Register. Annual homecoming held the last weekend in Sept. Located on N.C. 5 (Bethesda Road), Aberdeen. Guided tours for groups by appointment.

Union troops commandeered the Bethesda Church and the Malcolm Blue Farm nearby in March 1865. Today an exhibit details the Battle of Monroe’s Cross Roads at the Malcolm Blue Farm.
