Geocache Description:

Cache is a roadside standard micro on easy terrain.

The purpose of this cache is to reveal an important botanical Florida landmark, which can be seen from the cache site. Look 133 feet to the NW, or navigate to N 25.39.559 W 080.19.190. Here stands one of the oldest and largest examples of the Rainbow Eucalyptus tree in south Florida. Several of its larger branches were broken off during the 2005 hurricane season, so it is not as tall as it once was, but it is still quite wide!

The rainbow eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) is a spectacular tree, well known for its amazingly colored trunk. The tree’s bark peels off in narrow strips, revealing a rainbow of colors underneath including shades of green, red, orange, and brown. It almost looks as if someone had painted it! This tree hails from the rainforests of Mindanao, which is the southernmost and easternmost island in the Philippines. Koalas do not actually consume this species of eucalyptus, but we needed a clever name for the cache!

Please replace and hide exactly as found so as not to reveal its location, and use stealth!
