Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 14th cache by "Keeper of Time".

Please note that there is no cache at the above location.

In the world of Cachedom everything was great, there were lots of wonderful caches for people to search for and even the micros were easy to find. Then came the day of the Trolls, evil and ugly but most of all grumpy they took over the caches, guarding them and only letting cachers look for them if they can answer their cunning riddles.

So, the question is are you feeling lucky, are you up for the challenge, do you think you can defeat the Trolls and reinstate the calm beauty of Cachedom. If you wish to take on the Grumpy Old Troll read on, but, be warned he is very cunning and his power is strong, he will not let you get the cache if he can.

You must answer the following riddles and collect the numbers that the trolls have hidden.

1.) Two trains travel toward each other on the same track, beginning 100 km’s apart. One train travels at 40 km’s per hour, the other travels at 60 km’s an hour. A bird starts flight at the same location as the faster train, flying at a speed of 90 km’s per hour. When it reaches the slower train, it turns around, flying the other direction at the same speed. When it reaches the faster train again, it turns around -- and so on. When the trains collide, how far will the bird have flown?

Distance flown = AB km’s

2.) There are several chickens and rabbits in a cage (with no other types of animals). There are 72 heads and 200 feet inside the cage. How many chickens are there, and how many rabbits?

Number of Chickens = CD and Number of Rabbits = EF

3.)You have been asked to buy 100 squeegees, using 100 dollars to do so. You may buy no more or less than 100 squeegees, and the total price must be exactly 100 dollars. There is no sales tax. Red squeegees cost $6.00. Yellow squeegees cost $3.00. Blue squeegees cost $0.10. How many Red squeegees must you buy?

Number of Red squeegees = G

4.) You own a pet store. If you put in one canary per cage, you have one canary too many. If you put in two canaries per cage, you have one cage too many.

Number of Canaries = H and Number of Cages = I

5.)A farmer went to his banker to borrow money to buy livestock. The banker made a deal with the farmer. He told the farmer that he would give him $100.00, and that the farmer would not have to pay back the money if he could buy exactly 100 head of livestock for exactly $100.00.
The only rule was that at least one of each kind of livestock -- cows, pigs, and sheep -- had to be purchased. Each cow cost $10. Each pig cost $3. And each sheep cost $0.50. How many of each kind of livestock did the farmer buy?

Number of Cows = J and Number of Pigs = K and number of Sheep = LM

If you have worked out all of the above questions you should have the necessary information to defeat the grumpy old troll. The cache is a key hider located at South 37 EA.GBE East 144 IJ.JAC. The difficulty rating is based on the riddles, the actual difficulty of finding the cache at GZ is no more than 1.50.
