Beautiful hike along the lake to a scenic pond and the lake. In April the yellow wild iris and butterflies are magnificiant. The start of this hike is a little uphill, then quickly turns pretty level. Beautiful view, but watch the kids and don't let them run too far ahead.
Cache went missing a few months ago. I have replaced it and moved it a couple of feet to hide it better from boaters. Cache is a 30 cal ammo box. Please be aware of the poison oak, it is abundant this year. It is along the trail, but if you stay on the trail and keep your eyes open, you will do fine. We moved the cache on April 17, 2002 to an area clear of poison oak. Most beautiful place I have seen in a long time. Enjoy and Happy caching! This can also be done as a boat cache from Rattlesnake Bar boat launch.
