Geocache Description:

The Danie Miller Hiking Trail traces the foot of the mountains at Gordon’s Bay, offering splendid views of False Bay and the Helderberg. The trail starts on Aurora Drive passes the landmark Gordon’s Bay anchor and ends on Suikerbossie drive. (± 7km, 90 minute walk).

This is one of 2 caches placed on the trail. It is near to the beginning of the trail, and may be accessed from Aurora drive side and is about a 35 minute walk. The best option, and the one we hope you will take, is to walk the whole trail and enjoy the magnificent views. The cache may be accessed from the trail, so please do not leave the path.

The Miller family settled in Gordon’s Bay in 1852. Danie Miller is the 5th generation of the Millers living in Gordon’s Bay and the 3rd generation living in his present house. He served as councilor of Gordon's Bay for 16 years of which 5 was as Mayor. He and his two daughters established the trail and it was later named after him by the Town Council.

Enjoy the walk!
