Geocache Description:

This will take you on a relatively short but interesting circular walk around Dunnottar Woods on the southern outskirts of Stonehaven. The paths are all good involving some gently undulating terrain with a few slopes & steps so not completely baby buggy friendly but could be used for most of the route. The paths can be muddy when wet so boots are recommended unless searching during a prolonged dry spell.

The above coordinates are for the parking area only. The missing clues are collected en-route & completed below. The route takes you around a popular family & dog walking area so care maybe needed locating the actual cache. The coordinates will test your GPS skills and I assure you there’s no need to leave any path although your GPS might suggest it. You’ll learn more about life in bygone days and something of the Stonehaven local history. The difficulty rating is based on potential GPS signal challenges that could be encountered from foliage cover and not because of physical difficulties however I’m told there is a future thinning programme so this should help later. Time about 1½ hours.

The initial cache contents are: Log Book & Auto-pencil with rubber: Mini Wallet: Metal Brief Case Tag: Propelling Pencil: Sunglasses: Canadian Dollar: Golf ball: Bullet Key Ring: Egypt Lapel Pin: Pair of Cufflinks: An old Casio watch.
