cache-fan: After some complains on the security employed at the Sterkfontein Caves we went to invstigate. Unfortunately the security will not allow anybody behind a certain point without purchasing a ticket for the cave tour. This is either new or in my opinion a money making scheme as the underground tour is charged at R 110.00 per person, also there is no sign that you can not proceed beyond this point without a ticket. Reason given by the security are the high number of snakes in the area, don't know how a R 110.00 ticket prevent snakes biting you? We will not entertain a cache were this kind of money is charged, but will monitor when in the area if it changes maybe after the world cup.
As said, before you could freely walk around and read the many sign boards along and around the cave without payment, this is really ridiculous at present and we want to prevent other incidents of cachers driving to the area to be frustrated.

P.S. We relocated the World Wide Cache close by after the area at the Hartees was closed off, this cache is not affected, nor is the Earthcache there, but the charge now is R 30.00.
