Summerhill - I'll Be Watching The Shore Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs or logged into geocaching.com for some time I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,
DalesmanX

Geocache Description:

This is our 3rd cache in this area and as close as we dare put it to the Longscar sound Beacon to avoid it being muggled.

Stop and listen to it as you walk past.
The Longscar beacon is a solar-powered, self-sustaining sound installation. When approached a movement sensor triggers the playing of the song 'I'll be watching the shore'. It is located a 15 minute walk past the Visitor centre. From the Longscar beacon you can see the coast line as well as the church towers of Hartlepool, the Teesside chemical plants and the edge of the North Yorkshire moors.

There are plenty of walks in and around the park and a very nice cafe in the visitor centre if you need a rest and a cuppa afterwards.
(Details of walks etc at www.sunnysummerhill.com)

FTF Geopin for first to find.
