Geocache Description:

This geocache is situated on one of the small hills in Waihi. Great views. The track can be a little steep in places and can be very slippery when wet so please take care on the way down.

The cache location has great 360 degree views. You will be able to see both the Martha open pit mine and also the entrance and tailings for the new Favona mine. I would suggest parking at S37 23.554 E175 51.141. Then follow the track along the edge of the stream. At the end of this path follow the yellow markers.

When placed the cache contents were:

- certificate and chip for 1st and 2nd to find
- log book and pen
- selection of small marine animals and terrestrial insects
- sewing kit
- sunglasses
- spanners
- 64mb memory stick

Container is green plastic box in a green and white plastic bag.
